“The uptake of “evidence-based design” suggests that the social project of staging death will eventually be subject to “best practices”(Places Journal 2018). Hospice care is intended to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of its inhabitants and their families facing life-ending illnesses. The goal of hospice care is to provide comfort and care to the patient by assisting with pain and symptom management and to enhance the quality of life for both the patient and the family. The morose nature in the concept of hospice is contradictory to the scenic setting of the milieu. The built structure tries to provide the inhabitants with an ambiance of warm fellowship which is complemented by its surroundings. The design incorporates multiple wards for men and women, along with accommodation facilities clinics and pharmacies. The wide-open corridors and the connected spaces enhance the possibility of chance encounters giving them a homelike and an informal environment.
